Our projects usually start with questions rather than specifications. Can this be measured? Can this technology work outside the lab? Can we prove the idea before committing to a full development? The subjects vary but the approach doesn't: understand the problem, identify the unknowns, build something, measure what happens. Only then engineer the solution.
